The Mini Thermo has been redesigned, while still approximately the same size as before, it puts out up to 1.5
LBS thrust, which is truly amazing for such a tiny little engine. The intakes are now parrallel to the tail, and has a
much smaller injector system better suited for its tiny size.
The engine is approximately 12" long, with the spark plug it is about 13.25", and has a maximum diameter of 2
inches.
The engine is made entirely from 20 gauge 304 TIG welded stainless steel. Unlike spot welded junk engines you
may see from time to time, our TIG welded engines do not leak and are capable of more thrust and larger throttle
range.
The engine is heavy enough to survive extremely long max throttle static test runs.
The new dual intake fuel injectors are smaller to better fit the tiny engine, and are set up to allow the engine to
run off propane. If you have a small liquid fuel pump and have experience with RC gas engines and fuel systems
you should have no problem converting it to run on liquid fuels like gasoline or methanol.
This engine goes perfectly with a small thrust augmenter. A thrust augmenter is simply a specially shaped duct
that you place behind the engine. The shape of the duct acts as an annular wing, and also harnesses much of
the engines exhaust heat which would normally be wasted. By using the exhaust to heat and expand additional
air, the engine can produce significantly more thrust with no additional fuel consumption.
Our one piece stainless thrust augmenter specially designed for the Mini Thermo is able to increase the engines
thrust by up to 75% with no additional fuel consumption or moving parts. This increases the total thrust from 1.5
to over 2.5 lbs thrust.
