10 lb Thrust Thermo Valveless Pulsejet

$300.00 USD + Shipping
Due to the ever increasing price of stainless, the price may increase in the future, although I try to keep things as
reasonable as possible.
This thread is a copy of my ebay auction listings, you may see these engines on ebay, better known as feebay,
but we do not have them listed 100% of the time, but you can still purchase directly through us using Paypal.
We can also do custom modifications of any of these, such as different materials, injection orifices, pressure
taps, and heat exchange coils etc etc.

This thread is for a brand new 10 LB thrust Stainless Steel Thermojet style valveless pulsejet engine, with duel
intake stainless fuel injector, spark plug, and a copy of my Pulsejet CD with tons of pictures, tutorial videos,
instructions, and plans to build your own engines.
A valveless pulsejet is a type of jet engine with zero moving parts, and that produces thrust by burning fuel in
pulses. Owning a pulsejet is a great way to get into hobby jet propulsion without spending $3000 or more on a
turbine system.
The engine is made entirely from 20 gauge 304 Stainless Steel, and is fully TIG welded so that it is completely
leak free. This is not a leaky spot welded junk engine that you may see here on ebay from time to time. Unlike
the notorious spot welded thermojets being sold on ebay, this engine is rock solid and will not leak fuel /
compression / exhaust and can be run over a very large throttle range, because of the unique characteristics of
the engine, and its leak free construction, it can be throttled down to well below 5% max thrust.
It will "self start" and you can throttle it down to a very low idle so that it is quieter than a lawn mower, then
instantly crank it up to max throttle for ground shaking power!

The engine is brand new, not run at all. It will stay just as shiny in the picture until it is run for a while.
Even though the engine is not sent to you test run, its built to exact dimensions and guaranteed to run.
Its 20 gauge wall thickness means that it is light, but still plenty strong for extended static test runs without
cooling air. The engine is 37" long, about 38" with the spark plug in place, and weighs in at 3.75 lbs.
A mounting stand is not included to make shipping internationally easier and keeping box size to a minimum,
though if you are in the US and want a stand I can include one built to your design for extra.
The engine has a CM-6 size spark plug. The spark plug is not essential for starting, by using a small hand held
torch the engine can be lit by holding a flame at the intake while turning on the fuel, but for instant reliable self
starting you can also use a spark ignition system, giving you more options.
The Thermojet is a very interesting design. It has two intakes, and a fuel injector going into each intake. With
propane as the fuel source, you simply need to provide a way to ignite the fuel for the engine to start. This
behavior is called "self starting". The force of the fuel flowing out of the injectors pulls in additional air and mixes
it in the combustion chamber, when this mixture ignites, the engine creates a pulse of thrust, and it is enough to
start the repeating cycle of taking in fuel and air, burning the fuel air mixture, and expelling it out the engine at
high speed.
Most pulsejet designs require some way to blow air into the engine in order to create the proper fuel air mixture in
order for it to ignite and self sustain, typically air compressors, shop vacs, or leaf blowers. This adds another
level of complexity to starting an engine, but this 10 lb thrust thermojet is self starting, so the starting procedure is
extremely simple. Below is a starting tutorial video, the engine is the exact same design, built with the same
techniques and welding jigs, to the same dimensions.
This engine can also be run on almost any kind of liquid fuel. Gasoline, kerosene, diesel, methanol and more.
The engine will gladly run on almost anything flammable you can pump inside it. For best results with RC liquid
fueling, a small liquid fuel pump like used with turbines will work best. To make starting on the flight field just as
easy as using propane only, the engine can be started with a removable propane fuel injector, set at a low
throttle. Once the engine is on a low idle from propane, then turn on the liquid fuel and throttle it up a ways, then
shut off and remove the propane.
This engine is brand new and un-run. Even though it is not test run, it is built to exact dimensions using all the
same tools, techniques, and welding jigs, as the engine in the video above, and it is guaranteed to run. Building
your own engine can be a difficult process, there are many factors in building and running your own engines that
can be a nightmare to work out and make everything work together on the first try.
This engine would be an excellent way to gain tons of experience if you have had limited success with building
your own engines in the past, and the Pulsejet CD included with it contains tons of information, along with the
plans for the ThermalPulse 180, and Chinese Valveless pulsejet engines. These designs are highly refined and
combine ease of starting with excellent all around performance.

The CD contains lots of extras beyond the plans; it is a comprehensive collection of documents, diagrams, and
programs that go way beyond the average simple one page engine drawings that are normally found online.
There is a ton of information included on this CD, including pictures, videos, video tutorials, and "how to"
documents on everything from finding materials to starting the engine for the first time, all 100% original content
created by me. The Beginners Reference Book has all kinds of helpful information for beginners and the
Advanced guide goes into more challenging and high performance methods for when your ready to move onto
more in depth projects.

Warning:
Even small pulsejets are not toys, they are jet engines. They are intended for mature and responsible hobbyists.
They produce tons of noise, glow orange hot, and shoot out high-speed high-temperature exhaust gas. By
following a few simple safety steps pulsejets can be a very fun and safe hobby, but you should understand that
there are still risks associated with things that glow orange hot, use highly flammable fuel, shoot fire, and
produce tons of deafening noise. The safe and responsible use of this engine is entirely up to you.
You should always wear hearing protection when running the engine, along with safety goggles at all times.
Anyone near the engine should also be provided with hearing and eye protection as well. Wearing a good pair of
leather welding gloves is also a good idea if you plan on adjusting things around the engine. Pulsejets get so hot
that if you mount them close to flammable materials, the radiant heat can cause them to melt or ignite. Do not run
them indoors or near flamable materials.
I get a lot of questions whether or not these engines can be run indoors, the answer is NO! I know some of you
really want to run a jet engine in your living room, and blow out your windows and light your wife's new drapes on
fire, but just dont do it! If people are always saying you dont have any common sense, maybe jet engines arent
for you.
Once again this engine listing is for:
10 Lb Thrust Stainless Steel Thermojet Pulsejet Engine with spark plug
Dual intake stainless fuel injector line optimized for propane.
Pulsejet CD with Chinese Valveless & TP-180 Pulsejet Plans + tons of pictures, videos, tutorial videos,
documents, and more.
Extras you can purchase for this engine:
Mounting and display stand $20 with purchase of engine ( USA only, the size and shape make it difficult to ship
internationally for a reasonable price)
Light weight aluminum thrust augmenter $40 with purchase of engine.
If you wish to purchase these items you need to send us a message before completing your checkout so they
can be added to your checkout page.
SHIPPING
Shipping in the US will be by priority mail unless other shipping method is requested.
International shipping available by USPS Global Express Mail, which comes with tracking and insurance.
For international orders customs can sometimes be a delay, while the majority of items go through quickly and
without incident, if you do not get your item in a timely manner do not wait weeks or months to to say anything!

Pulsejets, even small ones are absolutely not toys, they are for mature and responsible hobbyists. They get
orange hot, and produce so much radiant heat that they can burn things close to them. They are also
EXTREMELY loud. Pulsejets can be a fun and safe hobby if you follow a few simple safety rules like wearing
hearing, and eye protection, and keeping the engine away from any flammable materials.
