4lb Thrust Thermo Valveless Pulsejet
|
The 4lb "thermo" is a powerful compact valveless engine. Running on propane it is able to 'self start' which
means that you turn on the ignition source, turn on the fuel, and the engine starts right up. Most other valveless
pulsejets require some form of forced air to be blown into the engine in order to get them to start.
The engine is 21.5" long, and has a combustion chamber diameter of 3". Its made from 20 gauge 304 stainless
steel, which makes it light, but heavy duty enough to handle long static test runs.

The engine is all TIG welded and leak free. It comes with a 1/8" stainless dual intake fuel injector set up for
running off of propane, spark plug, and a copy of the Pulsejet CD.
While propane is a very safe and easy fuel source to use, you can also use a RC fuel pump to run the engine on
almost anything that burns.
Gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, methanol are just a few of the things pulsejets will run on. A mixture of 80%
gasoline 20% methanol is a very powerful mix for pulsejets.
A stainless thrust augmenter with adjustable mounting bracket can be added for $25. Augmenters increase the
thrust output by using the exhausts waste heat to produce extra thrust with no additional fuel consumption.
